Salary: Grade E points 16 to 18 £17,419 to £18,070 pro rata             

Hours: 1 x 32 hours pw and 1 x 24 hours pw, term time only

Contractual Status: Permanent

We are seeking to appoint two suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly skilled Teaching Assistants to join our Key Stage 2 team. 

The successful applicant must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in delivering intervention programmes to support reading, writing and mathematics
  • Experience of working with primary school age pupils
  • The ability to work with a range of pupils with different needs, including SEND
  • Excellent subject knowledge in English and mathematics
  • Excellent behaviour management skills

Sunnyside Academy is a large primary school situated in Coulby Newham with 390+ pupils from the surrounding area.  The school also has special needs bases for children with sensory impairment and for children with moderate learning difficulties.

Contractual Status: Fixed term contract until 31st August 2018

Required for September 2017: to work in the Sunnyside Communication Base with Deaf and Hearing Impaired pupils.

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Specialist Teaching Assistant. Sunnyside School is a large mainstream primary school with three support bases for children with a Deaf/Hearing Impairment, children with a Visual Impairment and children with moderate learning difficulties.

The school is committed to the philosophy of creating a genuine inclusive learning community. The successful applicant will work alongside Teachers of the Deaf within the base and integrate into mainstream classes as appropriate. BSL to level 2 and knowledge and experience of Deaf and Hearing Impaired children would be desirable.

Senior Midday Supervisor

Hours: 6 hours pw term time only

Sunnyside Academy is a school with a very inclusive ethos.  We are looking to appoint a friendly, hardworking and reliable Senior Midday Supervisor to manage our team of midday assistants and support and supervise children at lunchtime in the dining hall and in the playground; to encourage good manners, appropriate behaviour and social interaction skills. The work will involve:

  • Managing the team of Midday Supervisors
  • Supervising play activities both indoors and outdoors
  • Supervising as part of a team in the dinner hall and, when necessary, as an individual in the classroom
  • Assisting children and encouraging healthy eating habits
  • Some personal care of children with special needs

We are looking for people who have a good rapport with children and have a lively sense of humour. There is a well-established policy followed by staff working in our school. Previous experience of working with children will be an advantage.
