Sunnyside Academy is proud of its partnerships with:

The Discovery Alliance Umbrella Trust +

Sunnyside, together with Hemlington Hall, Rosewood, Easterside, Viewley Hill and The Kings Academies, make up the Discovery Alliance. Our aim is to ensure that every child who attends any of the Academies within the trust receives the best possible education and reaches their true potential. Teachers, pupils and Governors from schools across the Discovery Alliance meet regularly to undertake activities ranging from staff and governor training to the scrutiny of data or learning about how to be a better writer.

Middlesbrough Schools Teaching Alliance

Staff and Governors from Sunnyside regularly attend training courses and information updates provided by our local Teaching Alliance. In 2014/15 we will be tutoring six courses for teachers and teaching assistants run by our expert staff who work with children who are visually impaired, hearing impaired or have considerable SEND.

Middlesbrough Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired Peripatetic teams

Senior staff at Sunnyside have been commissioned by Middlesbrough Local Authority to provide management support to the above council services. Middlesbrough manage all of the peripatetic support for children in mainstream schools across the areas Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland.

The Bungalow

The Bungalow Partnership based at Rosewood Academy, provides support and advice to children, their families and schools who are experiencing a range of emotional and behavioural problems.

The benefit of the service is demonstrated by a 75% discharge rate and a drop in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) referrals of 50%.
